After over six months with less exposure to computers than usually, I decided to build a new powerful computer for GPU rendering.
My new computer has:

Chassis: SilverStone Fortress FT05
Power Supply: Seasonic 550W Focus+ Platinum
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
Motherboard: ASUS X470 Pro Prime
RAM: 16 GB Kingston 3200 MHz DDR4
SSD: Samsung 1TB 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe NVMe
HDD: Western Digital Red 6TB
GPU: ASUS Geforce RTX 2060 Super
OS: Windows 10 Professional

I think that the new computer is well suited to GPU rendering, and the cost of the machine was well below 2000€. Some parts, like the case, were second-hand, which helped to keep the cost reasonable.
Below is a test render done with my new computer. I think that the system feels very responsive, and rendering the below image took just a couple of hours, instead of one to two days, which was usual with my previous GPU rendering machine.
Test render done with Octane Render and Daz Studio. Photos taken with Samsung NX1 camera.
