Machiya is a modern restaurant branding project inspired by Japanese cuisine incorporating a neon futuristic theme, targeting an experimental and curious youth audience. The restaurant specialises in the preparation of octopus as one of its key offerings. Machiya is recognised as a modern stylish brand offering wonderful fresh ingredients in dark edgy yet refined environments.

The wrapping paper for takeaway has been designed with the brand story in mind, taking inspirations from traditional Japan and the rich history of cuisine, then pushing it into a modern, futuristic environment. To symbolise this the road starts at the temple in the mountains with the iconic red sun in the background leading to a neon lit city scape with the restaurant set in the middle as a passing point between the two.
