A new experimental concept of a traditional musical instrument
This whole project was conditioned only by these two questions.
1. Is the reason why Kalimba has the shape it has ?
2. It is possible to produce a modern looking functional calimba with shape, dimensions and holding like smartphones ?
And in the end I got answers to both questions.
1. Yes, the correct shape and thickness help to improve sound resonance in the cabinet.
2. Yes, but the range of tones and sound quality are very limited due to the designed shape and dimensions.
