A Parks and Rec Kinetic Typography Video
Parks and Recreation, season 3 episode 10, "Soulmates". Leslie Knope matches with Tom Haverford on an online dating website. Confused and covertly looking for answers, she invites him out to lunch to see if there's something she's missing. Tom asks if he can get "apps and zerts" and we cut to a 35 second talking head where Tom lists more of his ridiculous, made up names for things. 

I was inspired by the rhythm of the dialogue and wanted to match the snappy energy of the clip with the art direction. I set out to convey the sense of whimsey through typography and color. 
I designed each composition so that the words either felt like what he was describing or matched the energy in his voice. Some screenshot are below.

The font in the 'sandoozles' sequence is 'Pillow Lava' from Velvetyne Type Foundry. Big fan of their work.
