ROMO is an instrumental home recording project by Rômulo Heleno, who released his first compositions back in 2015. The early guitar-driven music, focused on soft solos and cozy effects pedals, gradually turned to a full-blown sound with the use of synths and samples, culminating with the release of Sons de Porta in 2019, which brings elements of noise and electronica. Since 2016, ROMO make gigs as a power trio, with drummer Bruno Varoto emphasizing the band’s groovy influences and bassist Pedro Tavares composing the band’s first bass lines. One year later, current bassist Paulo Vitor joined the band, adding a touch of power pop to the band’s sound.
