PGSF Poster
The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation is a not-for-profit, private industry directed organization that assists men and women interested in a career in the graphic communications field. The foundation’s main missions are to attract young people to the industry, inform them of the many career opportunities available and provide financial assistance. this poster is a call-for-entry to allow interested students in the graphics
communication career field to apply for the scholarship.

The primary goal when designing this poster was to communicate ideas and guide the viewer’s attention by positioning each individual element strategically on the page. Gestalt principles, grid structure, negative space, emphasis and contrast were used.

PGSF is a scholarship to help aid students in the field. When creating the poster, I showcased the action of reaching and capturing success. This is a reference to students who receive this scholarship, they will attain knowledge and be able to take on the world ahead of them.

The primary elements of the poster are the three hands, the Earth and typography. The hands are in similar colors to ink cartridges because it PGSF relates to the printing. I used an image of the Earth to resemble capturing something grand. Both the hands and Earth have a diagonal placement along the page to create movement. The body typography is used with a grid layout for reading accessibility. The viewer is easily guided from one column to the next. The headline is large to create impact. I used a white drop shadow for the headline to create dimension.
