Broken Kente
Being a coming from First Generation immigrant parents, sometimes what you identify becomes confusing and you never feel 100% allegiance to either side. Therefore, I created a pattern print representing both my heritage and nationality. I combined Kente cloth, Prince of Wales check and Tweed to created this poster/print. Kente is a type of silk and cotton fabric made of interwoven cloth strips made and native to the Akan ethnic group of Ghana.
The digital print was developed into a series of screenprints.
