During my tenure in Data Affinity, I was given a project where I created a Solicitation Management Tool in MS Access.

The Client was a full-service IT Systems Integrator offering basic technical support
and consulting for Advanced Systems. Located in Seattle, the company provides
services such as Cloud Computing, VOIP, RAS & VPN Setup, Network Design and
Installation, IP Telephony amongst others. The company has partnered with
leading companies such as Microsoft, HP, Linux, Symantec, Dell, Compaq and
many others.
The client was approached by a government organization to create a Solicitation
cum Contract Management Application, who in turn approached Data Affinity
with the job.

The client undertakes a lot of work from the Government, where things move slowly. So, all communication from Solicitation till Contract Execution stage has to be recorded someplace for future reference, which was not happening. The government organization deals in the business of solicitations and contracts that involves handling of huge volumes of data by multiple contracting officers and specialists. Each of them started to maintain their own data individually in different formats, hence data was spread across the company and disorganized.
