My Sunset Muse, 2019
As design students we are often asked,
“What value can you add to this industry of young budding designers?”
My answer to this is through the work I do and the concepts that I touch through it, sustainability being one of them.
As a conversation sustainability in the 21st century is imperative as fast fashion is high in demand.
Recently, for a hand knitting assignment, I decided to extract the yarn out of an old dress with lustrous fabric that did not see the outside of my closet for 5 years, and converted it into a gorgeous evening sling- thereby meeting the fast demands of fashion.
This sustainable one of a kind sling with its lustrous texture of the garter stitch is completed with a delicate silver chain to it’s dark shade of pink.
The entire concept of this project was a marriage between the need of the hour in my field to the need of the hour of the world.
