Tideway AR App
App Interface Design
The Tideway App uses augmented reality to bring a tunnel boring machine to life, for the user to explore in 3D. I designed the interface and worked closely with a developer to create the app.
The app holds information about the tunnelling work happening underneath London and insight into the job roles involved in the project. The main, and most exciting, part of the app is that by pointing the device camera at the image on the below poster, the user can view a fully animated miniature tunnel boring machine and examine various parts and processes.
When the app is pointed at the poster image (which can be printed and laid on a table) the machine comes to life on screen and the user can isolate parts to take a closer look, or view information on different parts of the machine by touching the information points.
