This was a collaborative project. The Cardiff City academy contacted the graphic communication course at the University of South Wales about possibly creating artwork for the walls of the pavilion. The head of the course Emma Marshman asked us if we would be interested in the project. Being football fans, we were very pleased and excited to work alongside the Cardiff City Academy to produce these murals.
We visited Academy manager Dick Bate and his team to get a feel for the vision and the core beliefs behind the murals. This was a great experience and helped us a lot when it came to produce the artwork. Rhys began to produce illustrations for canvases while Craig took on the type based quotes for the walls. We were very pleased with the feedback given by Dick Bate and his staff and it was a great feeling to see our work being put onto the walls.
We also featured in the Cardiff City match programme and were given free tickets to see Cardiff City lift the championship trophy against Bolton Wanderers on the 27th of April.
