Through my work I explore space, containment, and the consuming darkness of the unknown.
As humans we navigate the visible, tangible world with our senses, but how do we begin to
experience that which exists at the fringe of our sight or beyond the boundaries of our senses?
How do we begin to understand that which is inherent to our existence, but beyond our physical
comprehension? I’m interested in manifesting the idea of dark matter and evoking feelings of
uneasiness and curiosity through the experience of a wearable object. The forms reference the
architecture of our physical world, but at the same time act as mysterious vessels of darkness and light. They are both seductive and disconcerting. They ask the viewer to consider the intersection between that which is illuminated and that which remains undiscovered and in the shadows of our consciousness.
