For a couple of months a year, from Black Friday to Christmas, we invert consumer culture by creating stores in some of the most iconic retail locations in the world. In these stores, however, you won't be able to take home the items from the shelf. Instead your purchases will go to people who truly need them — people across the world who are affected by the global crisis of displacement.
Working with Glimpse and Help Refugees, we created overwhelmingly positive and welcoming experiences in both London and New York. Using the visual language of boutique retail, we are able to invite people into the space to learn about the refugee crisis, and through the items and stories on the shelf, help them empathise with the people affected.
