The Packaging Graveyard
Where all the good ideas go to die!
Here are a variety of packaging projects, comps, concepts, mock ups, etc., - most of which were commissioned by a client but never used. Typically these layouts are presented to potential buyers - so the success or failure lies in the client articulating their needs, our execution of ideas that fulfill those needs and a buyer agreeing that the client's needs are not only their needs, but that we have also executed said ideas to the satisfaction of their needs as well. These pieces fall into place successfully about 1% of the time. So we get pretty good ideas that just didn't meet somebody's needs … poor ideas.

Series of concepts for biscotti packaging based on cigar box styles and designs. The tropical theme was at the client's request - they wanted "Tommy Bahama."
Nonni's paperboard box and tins w/label concepts for Starbucks. Shown here are three concepts on two applications. The first shows three sides of what would be a paperboard box with a removable lid. The second shows three sides of a label or belly band that would wrap around a metal tin.
