PSS Design Master Thesis Research
“Travel is an activity that has enormously grown in popularity since its origins, when it used to be a culturally engaged holiday for the élite societies. Although it is nowadays such a popular activity, “to travel” does not have a unique meaning, and thus cannot be identified within few categories. Travel is in many ways a fragmented experience made of research, anticipation, and a varying range of interactions between the user and the product-services related to the travel practice. This occurs before, during, and after the journey. This makes each experience unique for each traveler, therefore it is not easy to identify, neither it is to try and unify a persona to adress, by the product and services operating in the domain.”

Through a study of various travel guidebooks (print & digital) of our era, this PSSD Master Design Thesis Research presents a series of insights about contemporary travel practices, analysed in comparison with the services and products available for the contemporary traveler and projected towards the future.
