HANDWASH 30x40" ACRYLICS AND SHARPIE ON CANVAS
I start with a Sharpie sketch on Canvas.
I start to build up the darks and lights.
This painting has iron paint which oxidizes into real rust seen in the lower right corner.
At this point I added too much oxidizer, and ended up with a cloudy rust everywhere that looks a bit like mud.
Luckily I was able to remove most of the oxidizer and add more details in using sharpies and paint markers.
Some white drips were added, to add to the hand wash effect.
The textures are meant to confuse and delight the viewer.
