T H E C O N C E P T
I wanted my project to be reminiscent of both the history of my native land
and the Anti Denim philosophy. That’s why I chose to use Dante Alighieri and The Divine Commedy,
that is seen as one of the greatest works of Italian literature.
This poem describes Dante’s journey through the three realms of the dead and is divided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. This journey to the Underworld begins at Antiferno,
a place next to Acheron, that is one of the rivers of Hell which serves as the outer boundary of Hell itself.
The structure of the three realms follows a common numerical pattern of 9 plus 1, for example 9 circles
of the Inferno, followed by Lucifer contained at its bottom. So I decided to put the Anti Denim brand, representing Satan, in the middle of the illustration, surrounded by Dante and Virgilio,
the quote from the third canto and the diagram of Hell’s circles.

Volendo riportare nel visual qualcosa che richiamasse contemporaneamente
sia la storia della mia nazione che il pensiero anti denim, mi sono concentrato su una citazione medioevale.
Così ho scelto Dante e la Divina Commedia, capolavoro della letteratura italiana, diviso in tre parti:

inferno, purgatorio e paradiso. Un viaggio attraverso i tre regni ultraterreni che ha inizio nell’antinferno,
il luogo dell’oltretomba compreso tra la porta degli inferi e il fiume Acheronte,
che precede l’entrata nei nove cerchi dell’inferno. La citazione al terzo canto, Dante e Virgilio,
lo schema con la suddivisione in cerchi concentrici dei peccatori, fanno quindi da cornice al marchio Anti,
inteso come lucifero, che si trova al centro di questo viaggio macabro.
