The Body Shop Packaging

Brief
To design a coherent range of packaging for The Body Shop products aimed at ethically minded females, aged 18-35. The packaging must reflect the company's core values.

Concept
The main aim was to promote the values of protecting the planet and supporting community fair trade. The patterns created for the products reflect where the core ingredients are sourced from, in the case of the tea tree and Shea butter they both come from Africa. Traditional African patterns were used to influence the final design, with the shapes in the patterns relating to the main ingredient.
The initial purchase would be made in pretty textured glass jars and bottles with branded bamboo lids. The subsequent refills could then be purchased in paper packaging. All 100% recyclable.
The labels would be present on both the glass jars and refills, with each purchase the customer receives a piece of seed paper. The message is to plant it in an interesting place, ‘be creative’, in order to help our own environment and the local wildlife.
