Dewitt Project - A Transmedia Storytelling Project

I created a transmedia project for uni. I had to write a book or short story, and then put it in another two different media. I chose to use twitter and so create a new profile that was going to directly connect with the story and a manual that would help the reader understand more about the virtual reality that the main character will use in the story. Since the story is all about a futuristic, dystopian and cyberpunk-ish life I decided to use neon colors to set the mood.

In a futuristic world close to collapse the entire population is divided into two. The rich and important people and the poor and useless ones. The rich thanks to their money were able to afford a new virtual experiences that makes you live in a brand new world while the poor people, that couldn’t afford it, still live in a world left to rot."

Book:

Our main character is Nova, one of the lucky people that had the chance to live in this wonderland. One day she starts noticing weird things happening in this idyllic world, trees are glitching and things don’t look like before. What happens when one of the poor chooses to change the status quo and bring the rich people back in the real and ugly world? What will Nova do? Will her friends believe her when she will tell them about the weird glitches? Will she even tell them that or stay silent? And more importantly, are they where they think they are?
