Kaunastic — is one more original project dedicated for Kaunas
(the second biggest city of Lithuania).
Its aim is to introduce visitors and citizens to popular and
not yet known places of the city.
For this reason a conceptual map on a particular topic was created
in order to guide and help get know places or objects better.

This time the theme was Kaunas Hanza days.
An idea was to reveal places where a merchant Jacob could make his yourney
in this city.

----------------

A set of illustrations represents the most or more known architectural monuments of Kaunas. The graphic aim was to reveal a sense of Middle Ages, also to make them modern using an ink line drawing combined with the bright color palette. Analysis of objects and combinations of colors — were the biggest experiences in this project. I found the city and its architecture anew, took more attention to its details and a sense it conveys. Each illustration reveals a particular feeling. I have noticed, how colors and light could change the basic line drawing completely. And it is amazing to find out by yourself.

I am thankful very much for Kęstutis Lingys,
who invited me to create this project.
It was a great colorful and useful journey
through the history and architectural art of Kaunas city.

----------------

 A protrait of Jacob.
Churches and other Houses of prayer.
Architectural symbols of Kaunas.
Merchants' and noblemen's houses.
A set of all architectural monuments.
In order to complement an atmosphere of topic, there were created some people
and other graphic elements.
All illustrations in line.
This version was selected as the final one in order
to present more solid sense of the period.
Some details of the process.
Thsnks for watching this project!  |  Ačiū!
