Pandora

Pandora is a single-player 2D Platformer that won the Norwegian Game Award 2019 - Best Narrative. In the game, you will control Pandora, a young girl who is lost in the darkness of her own mind. She is chained to a giant, heavy, black ball - the manifestation of her anxiety. The chain grips her stomach as the darkness surrounds her. Pandora must learn to overcome her anxiety by wielding the black ball and returning to reality.

Challenge
The task was to create a single-player 2D Platformer based on our chosen theme, focusing on the gameplay.

Process
The idea was to create a world of anxiety and fear, where the player is trapped in the dark space inside Pandora’s mind. During the game, the player will hear the negative thoughts of Pandora as she talks to herself. All the items, creatures, and surroundings are designed around the concept of eyes, making the player feel as if he/she is being observed.
