The Power of String II
This phone charger/holder was made on the back of a previous string based project, where household items were used to make an array of candleholders. The main idea behind all these string based designs, is that it is not necessary to buy products that are specifically made for a purpose, but to promote the use/reuse of materials to create bespoke products in the home place.
A weaving technique was used to create a pocket for a phone that will mount onto a power socket during charging. The idea arouse from staying in a number of hostels throughout the world that had power sockets placed in high areas with no surfaces to place electrical equipment while charging. The design is also suitable for use in places where water hazards are prevalent.
