"GO BLUE COURAGE!". This is a vital sentence for this school project: two illustrations for a children book. Not only because it's the very title of the book, but also because, since the protagonists are booby (the bird) soccer players, it's the sentence their fan shout when there's trouble for their favourite team on the soccer field.

And boy, those annoying, plump, fire-red hurricane birds sure look like they mean trouble!

Our protagonists' dream; the Blue Courage team's dream, is to win the Great Soccer Tournament, for which they train as hard as they can.

But on the day before the start of the tournament, the group of windbags make sure not to miss the opportunity to bully our friendly blue-footed bird gals! They are none other than the reigning champions of the previous tournament: the "Red Fury".

I had a lot of fun designing the characters of this story! It is only 10 pages long so I didn't have enough space to emphasize their personality, however I tried to give each one of them definig traits to make them unique.

I have made up names for the Blue Courage team, but not for the Red Fury, because I didn't find it necessary for them to have a name, however: the bald one is russian (he has the tattoo of a cross on his chest, like some russian mafia members), then the one with the word "CHAMPION" tattooed on his enormous pectorals and sunglasses comes from the U.S.A. Behind the latter there's the japanes one, with tattoos from the Yakuza, the japanese mafia. The one with the clock is afro-american, while the one with the heart-shaped tatto with the word "MOM" on it is italian.

• Lola

The captain of the team. Confident, supportive and determined. Her blood boils when action is needed! However, she's calm when the situation demands it. She's spanish.

• Disco

She's the 70s loving one, with the blue afro and golden, round earrings. She's the goalkeeper.

• Eva

She's the fearless, short-tempered pivot of the team, fast as a lightning and gaze sharp as a blade, she has german origins and she's a real tough chick!

• Kali

The calm, protective, and gentle of the bunch! She comes from India and her position is on the right side of the field. She'll do everything she can to help her friends!

• Mei

Here comes the tiny troublemaker! Don't be fooled by her short stature, Because this little gal has the spirit of a fierce chinese dragon! She's the most lively of the group, and her position is on the left side of the field.

• Pina

A friend of the Blue Courage's team members, she's a bookworm, and she's really dense about sports.

She has an important role: she represents the women and girls who are too scared of the male dominance to fight back, actually she and the other gals will get in a pretty serious quarrel, leading to the highest moment of crisis of the story, which they will surpass by instilling courage in each other.
