! LOUD AND QUEER !
This June I decided to draw an LGBTQ+ short comic to show that, despite being a minority, queer people are everywhere, and it's normal for them to be everywhere.
They may not be seen at first glance, because some of them hide, in the closet. Hiding the truth from others, or on the worst case scenario, from themselves.
Since freedom of expression and LGBTQ+ rights are important to me I decided to give my little contribute, to spread even a tiny bit of awareness on this matter thanks to my passion: illustrating.
Not only that; they should be able to express themselves freerly, without the fear of being physically, psychologically or verbally assaulted. They should not be encouraged to try to change their nature (as they, nor anybody else, could ever succeed ).

They should not be forced to hide.
I express to you, who is reading this, my gratitude for looking at my work, not only because high visibility can open up many doors for my carreer as an illustrator, but also because I 'm happy to spread awareness on this issue, even if what I'm conveying is that gay rights are not yet granted for everybody.
Not yet.
Sketch of the school illustration. I wanted to emphasize the concept of "staying in the closet" by putting a person actually in a classroom closet. It was funny to think of all the places one can hide in a classroom.
Since I like to use a few colors when I draw in this graphic style, for this one I chose blue and yellow, with some red, orange and brown. The queer people are a different color in these illustrations, not because I wanted to discriminate them, but because I wanted my illustration to focus on them, and on them hiding, and also to have a nice contrast of colors.
Here is the second sketch: a bus stop. Since we are outdoor here, I wanted to draw some animals too, even to show that even animals can be homosexual (actually the two dogs are colored in purple/pink, like the rest of the gay people in this illustration).
I like how the light and shadow effects turned out on the man with the smartphone. Can he really be that distracted not to notice that transgender person hanging above him?
The third illustration takes place in a church. I personally like the two couples kissing in the background like it's nobody's business. Also the priest who is hanging in the air.
In this one, every character is homosexual, as symbolised by being red, like in "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne the colour red of the letter "A" may symblize what the Church views as sinful. It's such a paradox that a large number of the Vatican's clergymen happen to be gay (but is it really a paradox?).

Here are some other sketches/illustrations for the comic:
