Canada Post Stamp Concepts (2010)
Title: Ottawa Colour
Series: National Colour

Historical Notice: This project presents each Canadian capital city as a three-part colour palette.  Each palette was created using digital tools that were able to pick out the top three colours from key locations in each capital. This is significant in the Canadian context because it gives abstract visual references for each capital of the country. Colours are very evocative and these palettes can be used to inspire art and design from a local perspective.
Seven creative ideas for Canadian postage.
Title: 57 cents, 1.00 dollar and 1.57 dollar
Series: Don Watt Commemorative

Historical Notice: Don Watt is considered to have been one of Canada's premier graphic designers. His gift in communicating ideas to the general public was extraordinary. His work for No Name is a signature piece, a shepherd that brought modernism to the general public.  Don Watt passed away in 2009 and this stamp pays homage to a graphic design legend using the style he was most famous for creating.

This series of stamps uses the photographic style of the cookbook with rich imagesof an oddball assortment of Canadian food. Regional flavours are represented (Poutine and PEI Chowder), along with food innovations (California Roll and the Bloody Caesar), illustrating a fascinating piece of social life in Canada.
Title: Happy Holidays 2012
Series: Happy Holidays QR Code

Historical Notice: These codes are scanned by smart phones and send the user to an online experience, blurring the lines between traditional technology (post) and the latest digital experiences. This would be the first QR coded stamp ever produced and would give Canada Post a way to create additional user content, like a Christmas message that could be updated daily or the same stamp connecting to new content a decade from now (collectors).
