36 Days of Type - 2019

36 Days of Type started as a personal project that went global after Nina Sans and Rafa Goicoechea, both graphic designers from Barcelona, first decided to challenge themselves to create something new everyday, as a way to experiment with new stuff outside their comfort zone by setting personal daily design challenges.

This was the main inspiration to create the global launch of the project, that came after their good friend Victor Bregante suggested the idea of involving more people in the challenge, and this is how the idea of making the same exercise globally and simultaneously came out: As a 36 day celebration of type and creativity, involving designers, illustrators, type lovers and creatives from all around the globe.

If you want to know more in depth about the project, their creators, or for any suggestions, side projects or sponsorship proposals you want to share, feel free to drop us a line.

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and appealing when displayed. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point sizes, line lengths, line-spacing (leading), and letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space between pairs of letters (kerning). The term typography is also applied to the style, arrangement, and appearance of the letters, numbers, and symbols created by the process.

Type design is a closely related craft, sometimes considered part of typography; most typographers do not design typefaces, and some type designers do not consider themselves typographers. Typography also may be used as a decorative device, unrelated to communication of information.
