Jan Von Holleben’s playful and imaginative photography has gained recognition from clients such as Google, V&A, Vice, Mercedes and Audi.
Born in 1977 and raised in southern German countryside, Jan von Holleben followed his father’s photographic career by experimenting with the camera and developing his photographic imagination and skills. Von Holleben’s body of work focuses on the ‘homo ludens’ – the man who learns through play, which is built from a playful integration of pedagogical theory and combined with his personal experiences of play and memories of childhood.

Jan von Holleben’s photography is all analogue, which plays a large part in gaming with people and objects in reality. His work has been exhibited and acclaimed internationally, with his own book of photography being published in 16 languages and counting. He has also since set up photographic collectives, Young Photographers United and Photodebut, followed more recently by the Photographer’s Office.
Clients include: Google, Vice, Audi, Mini, Dein SpiegelJoe Fresh, Inditex, Sennheiser, Mercedes, Thames and Hudson, IKEA, Loqi, Vattenfall, Mondelez and Wall.
