Björk / 25 Years, Pt. 1_Editorial Design

Björk / 25 Years  |  Björk / 25 Χρόνια
My final project before graduating from the Graphic Design School was to create something that I love and is able to be commercially successful in a theoretical way.
Therefore, I decided to create a series of books that present the musical and visual evolution of Icelandic musician Björk. The books are a celebratory edition as they happened to be concluded on the singer's 25 years of solo career, hence the title.

The books are stitched by myself. The thread is something that is present in many examples of Björk's visual identity throughout her career, such as in music videos and artworks. That was the reason I chose to stitch the books with coloured threads that represent the palette of each album, to pay homage to the singer herself.

A series of packages was also created for the books themselves. The paper that was used was recycled and eco-friendly, a reference to the singer's environmental activism. The architecture of the packages enables the viewer to take a glimpse of the inside.

Utopia, the singer's latest endeavour is not featured on the book series yet due to a lack of source material, however it is present both on the merchandise and the invitation's imagery.
