TWO HONG KONG PROTESTS
FOR NO CHINA EXTRADITION

This series of photos is a documentary recording from two huge protests in Hong Kong, includes 9-Jun (1 million people) and
16-Jun (2 million people) protests for anti-extradition to China in Hong Kong.

All photos were captured by the peaceful moments in protest parades.

9 June 2019 : White Clothes Protest

9-Jun Anti-extradition protest, Organizers claimed 1 million people to join the protest. The dress code is white, so you can see most of "white clothes" waking on the main road in Hong Kong island. In the daytime The protest is rational, peaceful and warm, you can see parents walking with their children, to carrying citizen's obligations when problems occurred in our homeland.

I holding Leica M240 with a 35mm lens, It good time for practice Manual focus, because the road crowed and people keep moving, you have to predict what moment will be, and take it at the decisive moment.

Hot and wet, children felt troubled and sad, but they still waiting and walking with their parents.

This day reminds people what memories in "Occupy Central moment", the tension of political movements was once cold down after 2014 the occupy central movements were "dead". Many people surprised that huge person walking again on the street to request the government to respond to their demands.

"Yellow Umbrella"

Yellow umbrella represented the democracy and freedom in Hong Kong, the symbol started from "Occupy Central with Love and Peace" (2014), people holding umbrella to protest the teargas fired by police.

21 June 2019: Black Clothes Protest

Subway was packed with black clothes people, every carriage was black people.

The second protest happened when the government has no response to the requirement from the first protest. Also, teargas was fired by police after the peaceful white clothes protest, make more people join the protest.

I loved X70 because it is portable, nice color performance and the battery is powerful (I can take it the whole day with raw-jpg setting), but the sharpness and performance of three-dimension are not my tea in 2019.

A young man committed suicide before the day of the black clothes protest, people wore black clothes to be there, taking white flowers to mourn his death.

Students organized cleaning teams to clean up the street when the protest running. Some foreigners support the protest, showing slogan outside the bar.
