INFORMATIONAL SMOG
This project was created as part of the Monumental Topography project on the 25th anniversary of the Faculty of Art and Design at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. I created this project with two other artists; Lucka Kramperová and Marek Lovětínský.
Translation: In the sound installation we are working with mock statements of politicians, their unclear political cases, and statements that have little to do with the purpose and function of their political program. We are reacting to the constant lies and disinformation that some people use and harm our state and its citizens. We work with the cutted sections of their speeches and conversations that we put together and the dialogue emerges from their monologue; person' dialogue with oneself. This spurious discussion underlines their insignificance and ridiculousness. We do not intend to harm or ridicule any of those people we have presented, we chose them because of the causes that were appropriate for this project, or simply because they are currently very much debated in this issue. Amplions are installed on mannequins serving as stylized figures that are unified by the same look and are cleansed from identities.
We first introduced this installation to the public 26.5.2018 as a part of the Transient Zones festival. It took place on the main inbound road to Letná and was confronted by a wide public of passers-by.
