Process
Pitched Concepts
I was invited to pitch ideas for the wraparound cover for the August edition of AirBnB magazine.
Below are a series of concepts for the cover that were pitched to the art director, the final of which was selected.
1. Gelato in Florence
2. The view, Grenada
3. Shipwreck diving in Bermuda
4. Gondala for one, Venice
5. Photography in the Brazillian Amazon
6. Local advice, Toyko
After selecting the Tokyo laneway concept, I refined the image in Adobe Photoshop, starting with a detailed linework layer, and then adding in solid colours and overlays into photoshop, including textures and noise to give a sense of ambience to the piece.
Linework: Created in Adobe Photoshop on a Wacom Cintiq Pro
Base colours: Solid colour layers, masked under linework.
Final highlights: Gradient overlays, noise, reflections, highlights and toning created in Adobe Photoshop.
