Sandbox Immersive Festival 2019

Our “imagination” about the world are based on subjective consciousness of how we see the reality. XR as well. Just like a beam of light threw onto objects, adding “imagination” onto actual space.

The theme of Sandbox Immersive Festival 2019 is “Immersive City”, and it's all about immersing into virtual reality, overlooking the Earth, reviewing familiar spaces from another perspective. Therefore we came up with the concept "Plug-in", casting a beam of yellow light onto an office environment. As the light changing forms while switching spaces, the common space shows an very unusual status.

We are hoping to influent the audience by rethinking the meaning and possibilities of the daily-life city spaces.

从文字、影像到艺术，我们对城市的任何「想象」都是基于主观意识建立的与现实之间的联系。XR 也是如此。如同一束光投射在现实物体上，将「想象」插入到现实空间。

今年砂之盒沉浸影像展的主题是「沉浸城市」，希望浸入虚拟现实、俯瞰地球，用另一种视角理解城市与我们熟知的空间。因此，我们选择从「Plug-in」这一概念着手，以一道黄色光束投射到办公楼环境，随着空间的爬升不断变幻形式，也联通不同的空间。空间叠加光束之后，仿佛加入了某种「插件」，呈现出不同以往的状态。

通过在现实空间中叠加动态设计的「插件」效果，希望引发观众共鸣，反思我们生活中那些熟悉的空间存在的意义与可能性。
