veVE_Samedi //live generated, interactive motion graphics
This R&D was done using Notch motion graphics software, it is incorporating various workflows and tools that this software offers.

I love Field system in Notch, but I have never tried Point affector or 3D object collision affector. So it felt right to take it for a spin, affector rigging is quite straight forward as you would expect. So no surprises there.

The whole simulation is  based on temperatures and densities settings in the Field root node. Colour of this simulation can be controlled, altered in field shadow node.

I have added a small controller via OSC, the layout is attached to the download file. OSC part is all based on TouchOSC and it's TouchOSC Editor (works on Mac and PC). In the OSC editor you get to create your own layouts, assign OSC name strings, etc. With that done you are ready to export it to your touch screen device and bring OSC signal to Notch.

Handy tip - in Notch for OSC value reading and monitoring enable Connection Monitor.
You can find it via View > Connection monitor.
There you will see all incoming messages and their string names.

If you never tried OSC in Notch and wonder where to start, Manual is a great place. If Reading manuals does not sound as a tempting activity for your afternoon, check out this stream, in there you will find me and Ryan testing and setting up OSC, MIDI and webGUI. (Reading manuals is a healthy activity, I am not saying it is fun, but it is healthy!)
