"Ghoulfriend #1" is a petite painting of a ghoulish feminine figure basking in her own glow in the darkness. My aim was to create a character that exudes an inviting mystery while portraying vulnerability. To translate this I have chosen colours that mimicked X-ray scans, a literal act of seeing through someone.
Ghoulfriend isn't afraid to strip herself bare for someone to see through her and invites the viewer to join her in comforting vulnerability.
