Project: Catch and Release - Solo Show Karman Orange Gallery, Santa Ana, CA

Show Description: Catch and Release was inspired by the infamous “one night stand”. The setting is located in a placid lake bed. Water naturally being one of our vital life resources, plays an essential role of cleansing oneself of impurities. Although, lake is a body of water, it is a misconception of clean. In this series I played around with the physical and emotional notion of isolation.

The four paintings are grouped into two sets, one scene above the lake and one below. Each set of paintings work cohesively as one image, but it is up to the viewer to determine the composition. Since each character lives on its own canvas the viewer is allowed to change the story by dividing up the space between the sets. Depending on the placement of the images whether in front, or behind allows the viewer to control the relationship of the work.
