The Tokyo Replay Center is a new concept of entertainment, a place where technology, anime and video games meet, coexist and interact. Our building aspires to be a meeting point for “otaku” people, where all their various entertainment needs will be satisfied.
TRC should represent this philosophy and its particular culture, which extends in areas such as leisure, commerce and education. The main entrance of the proposed building is from the street but there is also access from the pedestrian way. The building façade is a lighted led screen projecting images of anime and manga, which will attract the attention of the people walking on the street and will set it apart from its neighboring buildings.
Our main goal was to connect the new shops with the passage “My way 2”, located at ground level, and to create a link between the new center and the public space of the street, while the karaoke rooms and auditorium are on the upper floors, to ensure less noise and a more private environment. Both the ground level and the roof are designed as green “squares”, while the cafeteria, situated at the top floor, offers to the visitors a great view of the city of Tokyo.
