This marks the start of my new editorial illustration portfolio. I am really happy with this piece, and I will continue to use this approach in my future digital work.

I love the ambiguity. Is she in the waiting room at her therapist's office? At the hospital, waiting for news from the doctor? Or at home, waiting for her lover to return from their late night tryst?

The original sketch. I usually sketch out a figure first, then start laying in blobs of color as I adjust the composition and color palette. Once all that is settled I will sketch in the details and refine the original figure.
