I felt so in awe and inspired when I first saw what Leandro Senna had done with his amazing hand lettering project. If you have not seen or heard of it, I highly recommend that you head over to his website and check out his amazing Bob Dylan´s HAND LETTERING EXPERIENCE project.

 

After I saw what he had done, something inside of me started bubbling and I became totally convinced that I had to create a similar project for one of the most popular Psalm in the bible.

 

As it was my first try at hand lettering, the entire project took longer than I had expected, 2 months to be exact.

 

I first did some research on hand lettering typography and also drawing inspiration at the same time. I then created the basic look in Illustrator to see how it would turn out and finally laying down the final touches using only paper and pencil, modifying the type as I progressed.

 

There's definitely some rough edges and plenty of room for improvement but I was really happy with the final artwork. All in all it was a really fun and fulfilling experience.
