"PAINTINGS LIKE STONES" – The proceess of painting, not the final effect, bears the greatest importance for me. Painting pigmented with water is what interests me most these days. Especially when I enlarged the format of my paintings. The fact of being in control of a large smudge on a bigger format is an interesting situation and a challenge. [...] Such a painting which is similiar to a stone – unassuming existence – is an ideal to me. Stones possess magic power and it is important to me that a painting should be a magic object, just as it happens in case of stones.
