A Documentary Film Festival Invitation
Nonfictionfilm.com, a blog run by CNN contributor Matthew Carey, covers news, current events, film releases, and box office news from the documentary film world.
I was hired to create an invitation for their annual Documentary Roundtable event, where filmmakers from Oscar nominated documentaries come together for a critical discussion and screening.
The design of the invitation, much like the org's logo, was inspired by Italian film posters from the 1950s and 60s - bold, red, and minimal. The circles mimic the design of a camera aperture, the piece of a camera that opens to let light in, similar to how the filmmakers present at the discussion will open their minds up to the audience and give them insight into their filmmaking processes.
