K A S Z U B N I K  is a project inspired by the traditions and culture of Kashubia - one of the most beautiful region in Poland known for its numerous lakes, hills, splendid forests, clean air and idyllic landscapes. Kashubia is a charming and picturesque land located in northern Poland. It is the homeland of Kashubians ethnic minority who still speak their own language and cultivate some old customs and rituals. They respect tradition because they are very proud of their roots and ancestor culture.

I am also a Kashubian and I am proud of my culture. I think that legends and folk tales as well as colorful embroideries, snuff, dances, pottery, folk sculpture, regional musical instruments and traditional dishes are treasure of the region and deserves to promote. That is why I decided to bind my diploma thesis with Kashubia. Feel invited to get to know Kashubia through my illustrations. I hope that my work will inspire you enough that you will want to check on the map, where the land called Kashubia is located.
