Dancing with the devil- a 24 hours long seascape escapade in the arctic
High above the arctic cirle in northern Norway lays the wonderful island Senja.
Senja is Norways second biggest island and features a whole variation of different kinds of landscapes, but the omnipresent thing are those great craggy and spiky peaks emerging out of the sea. Instead of showcasing a variation of places, for this series i chose to show you a variation of different images taken at exactly the same place: Tungeneset.
In the background you see the Oksan- Skjaeringen mountain range with the most famous of them beeing Okshornan. But you will have most likely heard another name for these peaks and it´s a rather nice sounding one (at least to me): The devils jaw or devils teeth.
And somehow... somehow that really fit´s to the shape of the mountains and the wild appearance of the place itself.
All these images were captured in no more than 24 hours
So please enjoy this series of landscape photographs
Behind the scenes material at the end of the series as per usual
This whole series was taken in the transcourse of 24 hours and i was going back and forth to this place to try to capture it in different moods, ambiences and emotions.
Mother nature put on quite a show for me and at some point things got so wild that many a camera died in the shooting pit. I somehow managed to keep my gear safe and i didn´t suffer from more than wet feet.
Not too comfy at -12°C, but who cares when the view is so good...
To achieve different looks i played around a lot with the settings and my capture techniques in the field. Later on i applied my own personal workflow in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom for the RAW conversion and in Photoshop CC 2019 for the nitty gritty and to get the images to suit my style of landscape photography.
