Glass Animals Album Shoot : Styling and Photography

This a Concept Shoot inspired by the album "How to be a human being a human being" by a British four-piece band the Glass Animals.

Brief: Recreate an album cover inspired the theme of any artist, create a CD catalogue consisting of different images/visuals inspired by the album.

We brought our twist to the project by bringing an Indian perspective to the characters and elements used through styling and heavy detailing to create a contrast between Indian 70s society Vs the British society.

We kept all the band's signature elements like pineapples, cacti, watermelon, basketball and the colours the same.

We were especially connected by their second studio album because of the screaming of 70s aesthetic,
The lead singer claims that the visuals are highly inspired by 70s Britain: basketball, the diner, beverages, fried chicken, pineapples, cacti, watermelons, pop-art, costumes and
we also saw that the graphics have a high usage of 8-bit characters.
Interestingly,
All the songs in their album are each associated with a story of a different character,
and as a whole
they're are all connected to make a day to day society.
Characters include:
A child, a sad waitress longing for her youth-days, a scientist, the main character: An Indian photographer, a crazy old mad and his lady on a wheelchair, 2 different types of teenagers and a Basketball player.
We tried to add details like Indian pots in the background, Indian style of housing and dressing with a pinch of the band's aesthetic by adding a cactus.
We also had to bring out the contrast in the Indian looking male to a non-indian looking face.

"Pineapples are in my head" - Pork Soda (A song in the album)
Replaced the classic beverages, the pots and the telephone.
The signature Indian Polka-dots had to be included, with the round glasses, the high-raise hairdo, hoops.
Finally the back of our album cover!

More elements: The underwear replaced by the lungi, the classic Indian Bollywood diva look, The wheelchair replaced by a rocking chair, the classic bell-bottoms, huge framed sunglasses, winged-eyeliner, turban, braids and bindis and many more accessories.
