In a small secluded village in Burgundy, France, a Dutch couple ownes a monumental building dated 1600-1700. The owners partially renovated and restored the building approximately 15 years ago, to transform it into a holiday home. It consists of a main building and two outbuildings which are linked by a private courtyard (cour).

The assignment includes making a design for replacing the roof of the main building and the complete renovation of the underlying attic. The attic is to be transformed into a painter's atelier and children's dormitory with en suite bathroom.
