The Danish island of Bornholm, which covers almost 600 square kilometres, has the shape of a diamond and lies in the middle of the Baltic Sea between Poland and southern Sweden. The approx. 40000 inhabitants live mainly from agriculture, fishing, crafts and tourism. Due to the glacial movements, Bornholm has a quite varied coastline with cliffs, rocky beaches and interesting granite rock formations.
