Red Cross Competition

The ICRC Competition required us to create a style sheet that visualized our approach for the project along with a poster that we could apply this style to. The concept is a simple effective style that can be easily recreated and compliments all walks of culture. The style I chose to go with is a very simple vector style created in illustrator.
I chose to go with 5 colours that each play an important role - Dark blue, light blue, red, yellow and off white. The dark blue is mainly used for the strokes applied - The strokes were also kept a consistent weight throughout the project. The red, blue and yellow are skin tones. The off white is more of a tertiary colour.

The characters are free-flowing figures making them easy to manipulate into different positions. All based on one key figure, they can easily be created into any character you like. The objects are simple and communicate their key purpose, some even have icons to assist better understanding. The environments I created were based on nature and a city style. Each represents a composition that could be recreated using simple shapes applied.

I chose to do step 4. Allocating a unique code to the dead bodies. This step explains that there is a unique code that needs to be given to each individual body. There are specific requirements for the code as it is not only a number. The poster illustrates how to prepare for the application of the code on a tag, where it goes on a body and external applications that need it. This is placed out in six steps and highlights the importance of allocating the code.
