This book was created for my final project in my BA of Graphic Design. The objective was to tell the story of what a lone bike tourer experiences on a trip. I discovered that people don't tend to ask me what were the most beautiful places that I saw. Instead, they were much more interested in knowing, ´What the hell were you thinking?', which now seems quite logical to me. When you are alone riding a bicycle for several hours a day, what goes through your mind?

 

Therefore, I used graphs and photos to document the physical highlights of the trip whilst the graphic treatment of the text and illustrations provide an insight into my thoughts and mental state during the journey. The combination of these visual elements provides the reader with a better understanding of all the facets of doing a solo bike tour and hopefully brings them closer to my experience.
