My Imaginary Friend - Short poem

MY IMAGINARY FRIEND
When her bottled up feelings of lust and love went too far ahead with insincere interactions with men, forced acceptance from her religious father, unwanted matchmaking from the society and broken dreams of being with the women she loved - Meera made a friend in the glass case she suffocated in for 25 years.

My concept revolves around how the intense suppression of one’s feelings has given rise to a mental projection of an imaginary friend who has turned out to be a living entity of its own. Akira whispers daunting things and compels Meera to be heinous to those who are a threat to who she really is. Akira is a manifestation of her alter ego.
