This installation focuses on the issue of social perceptions and beauty ideals dictating who we aim to be. The quote chosen, “memory is your image of perfection” is by Barbara Kruger. It urges the viewer to understand your image of perfection” as a process of recalling that is the product of a culturally determined construction of femininity and identity evidently external to who you are inside. This meaning is shown through three-dimensional typography that effectively engages with the location and its regular customers and makes them re-evaluate their unattainable image of perfection. 

The flawless mannequin in the high fashion location contrasts effectively with all the other elements — the stabbing pins, the tugging cotton, the overcast day, the scaffolding — to cause the audience to contemplate their image of perfection and realise the control of the industries. This effectively portrays my message and creates an effective piece of design by getting the audience to think.
