I did this assignment last year for the April 2018 edition of the Sydney University Alumini magazine (SAM), featuring Dr Tara Murphy, and her role in one of the most important events in science of the past decades: the detection—for the first time in human history—of gravitational waves and electromagnetic radiation from a massive star collision roughly occurred 130 million years ago (say whaaaa?)
